"How UNESCO Encourages Antisemitism"

In October, the US State Department notified the director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) that America would be withdrawing from the UN body.

The US cited the need for fundamental reform, mounting arrears and a "continuing anti-Israel bias" at the organization. But the problem is much deeper: UNESCO denies Israel's very right to exist, a fact that its defenders would do well to acknowledge if they are serious about reforming the agency.

In recent commentaries in The Hill and elsewhere, some have obfuscated UNESCO's efforts to delegitimize the Jewish state. Commentators such as Dan Wagner, a special adviser to the UNESCO director-general, have minimized the organization's troubling agenda, stating: "When it comes to Israel and some other hot-button political issues, the majority of UNESCO member nations and the U.S. have sometimes found themselves on opposite sides."

The reason? "Because UNESCO — as the US insisted at its founding — is a fully democratic body that gives each member nation a single vote," according to Wagne, so "the majority truly does rule." Yet this omits the fact that the majority of UNESCO member nations have engaged in, or passively enabled, efforts to single out Israel. That this is done via "majority rule" hardly makes it any better, as the history of antisemitism at UNESCO regrettably illustrates. ...

"At UN session on Jerusalem, Nikki Haley says recognition advances peace"

At a special discussion at the United Nations Security Council about U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said the move improves the chance of reaching a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians.

"What Europe can learn from Israel in its war against vehicle attacks and lone wolf terror"

The van terror attack in Barcelona follows a similar wave of car rammings in Nice, London, Paris, Berlin, and Stockholm. By Colonel Richard Kemp, Arsen Ostrovsky

Shortly after the horrific terror attack in Barcelona last week, which claimed the lives of 14 people, Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said terrorism is Europe's main problem "right now".

Similarly, it was not until the London Bridge car ramming in June this year that killed 8 people, that UK Prime Minister Theresa May said "enough is enough". But therein lies the problem.

Jihadists have been waging terror in Europe for years now and 'enough' was enough after the first attack. But European leaders have largely been in denial, only now beginning to concede there is a problem, and even still, many refusing to identify and confront the radical Islam at the root of this war. ...

"Jewish center bomb threats top 100 since January" - Kids pulled from schools as fears spread

They're supposed to be pillars of unity and peace, where both Jews and non-Jews can enjoy classes, sports and other communal activities. But more than 100 Jewish community centers have turned into targets of hate, subjected to bomb threats as fears of heightened anti-Semitism spread across the country.

The threats have reached such a crescendo that President Donald Trump used his speech to Congress on Tuesday night to address the issue. ...  "This is the first time in the 60-plus years of our organization we have had a bomb threat called in. And now we've had three bomb threats this year," said the CEO of a JCC in the Northeast who wished to remain anonymous for fear of copycats targeting his center. "It's alarming." ...
